QGPod 42 – Chef Tu David Phu
Anson and Chris were joined by Oakland native and SF Chronicle Rising star Chef Tu David Phu. Chef Tu has , brought his diverse culinary palate to the copper spoon, where he is putting his stamp on some fresh Vietnamese flavors through his pop up aptly named Banh Mi Ni. Community work is an important aspect of Tu’s life, and it is evident in the way that he operates as an entrepreneur in the food space. He talked about the importance of his work outside of the kitchen, and how he has used food as a platform to spread his message and lift up those in his community. They got into the importance of creating accessible cuisine, while still utilizing the best ingredients, and using pop ups as a means to test the market.
